At Sarah Ladybug Yoga we are utilizing our yoga practice to help fuel change not only within ourselves but for others in the community. In this extreme heat, we are coming together to raise money for supplies to create Summer Comfort and Care Bags for the homeless. For our Winter drive, we were able to raise enough money and donations to feed 150 homeless folks and provide winter supplies to 40 people. Kindness is always in season. And now we find ourselves on the other end of the spectrum, needing to help with those without shelter survive the brutal heat.
Items we are collecting include:
Gently used zippered bags, backpacks
Gently used sun hats or lightweight ball caps
Chapstick with SPF
Shampoo + Conditioner
Individually wrapped snack foods, crackers, trail mix
*With monies donated we will purchase bottled water and lunch supplies.
All supplies and proceeds go toward compiling care bags and making lunches. This is a grass roots endeavor fueled by a small but mighty yoga community! Myself and a team of volunteers hand out the bags, food and water. If you would like to join us, please send me an email and I will be sure to keep you posted on distribution.
Yoga is a beautiful outlet to regain strength, feel more centered and balance and through community classes- it is a way to give back while building your own practice. This is a great way to help take care of yourself and help to take care of one another.
The next Community Class will be held on Sunday, July 22nd at 11:15am. It is a one hour vinyasa yoga class, a minimum of $5 or any two items from the donation list will be acceptable forms of payment for class. If you cannot make it but would like to donate goods or monies, please do not hesitate to reach out to Sarah at email@example.com
Thank you for your support in growing our yoga community and helping to expand our reach as we work to help those in need. Namaste,
